Art classes for everyone

Continuing Education courses at CCAD

CCAD courses provide broad fundamentals, instill creative concepts, develop professionalism for the serious student, and give the beginner a greater appreciation of the visual arts as well as basic artistic skills on which to build. The variety of courses offered is for all levels of interest and skills, and we offer courses for adults, teens, and children.

Spring 2007 Continuing Education calendar

  • November 27: registration begins
  • January 17 : CE Information & Advising night
  • January 27: CE courses begin (5:30-7:30 pm in the Canzani Center)
  • March 17-25 : Spring Break; no classes
  • April 27: CE courses end

Registrations cannot be accepted via phone or online at this time. The college reserves the right to cancel courses due to low enrollment, or to change times or instructors without notice.

Fees

Fees are included with course descriptions for Continuing Education Courses, Degree Courses, and Creative Summer Workshop classes.

Payment due dates

All payment is due upon registration.

Refund and withdrawal policy

By registering for classes, you accept responsibility for paying for the entire session regardless of the method of payment and/or attendance in class. CCAD does not have an automatic withdrawal policy. Nonattendance does not constitute official withdrawal from one or more classes. To withdraw from a course and/or request a refund, you must submit your request in writing at least one week prior to the start date of the course or workshop. Refunds will not be issued after that date. All refunds are issued as a check payable to the registered student. If applicable, it is the student’s responsibility to work out repayment with the person or party responsible for payment of tuition. Credit card accounts cannot be credited with a refund. Refunds are processed as quickly as possible, but may take 4-6 weeks. Last day to request a refund for evening courses is Monday, January 22, 2007.

Financial aid

Students who have not been formally admitted through the CCAD admissions process are considered nondegree-seeking students and are not eligible for financial aid.

Supplies

Supplies and equipment vary according to the course. Supply lists will be mailed prior to the first class. Most supplies are available at the CCAD supply store located in Kinney Hall.

Grades

Continuing Education courses are pass/nonpass. No letter grade is given. Students who must have a letter grade should alert the instructor at the first class.
Letter grades are issued for degree courses. Any student who wishes to register for a degree course who does not want a letter grade must express that they choose to audit the course at the time of registration. CE courses (courses that are designated CE in the course number) may not be audited. No audits will be processed after registration closes for the term.

Student identification cards

Purchased once per term by paying the $120 general fee (nonrefundable).

Enrollment in degree courses

Continuing Education/nondegree-seeking students may enroll in both day and evening degree courses in accordance with the following policies:

  • All prerequisites and permissions must be obtained before registration. Student may need to have work reviewed.
  • Continuing Education students may take degree courses on a space-available basis.
  • Continuing Education students pay the full-tuition price for BFA degree courses.
  • Registration and lab fees must be paid. Payment is due at the time of registration.
  • There is no limit on the number of courses a Continuing Education student may take within the term, year, or career of the student.
  • BFA degree courses count toward a degree if the student decides to seek a degree and is accepted to CCAD through the admissions process. (Contact the CCAD Admissions Office at 614.222.3261 or e-mail for information.)
  • There is no limit on the number of BFA degree courses that will count toward the degree.
  • Registration for BFA degree courses will open to Continuing Education students on August 14.

State of Ohio Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program

If you are a high school junior or senior anticipating participation in the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program, Option A, please contact your high school counselor and then contact Brooke Hunter-Lombardi at 614.222.4039.

New Bachelor of Fine Arts students

Degree-seeking students must contact the Admissions Office at 614.222.3261 for information.

Nondiscrimination statement

ADA compliance statement

If you have a documented disability, as described by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) it is recommended that you contact Disability Services at 614.222.3292. Disability Services will assist you in arranging appropriate accommodations with the instructor.

Conceal/carry weapons policy

Pursuant to the Ohio revised code, no person shall knowingly possess, have under the person’s control, convey, or attempt to convey a deadly firearm or dangerous ordnance on to CCAD property. A valid license does not authorize the licensee to carry a weapon on to CCAD property.
