Mark your calendars for Wednesday, January 17 from 5:30-7:30
pm for our spring Information & Advising Night in
the Canzani Center.
Continuing Education is designed for students of all skill levels,
and our students have a variety of motivations for taking our classes.
Some have a clear vision and specific goal; others have a strong
desire to explore.
Because we receive a number of requests for
advice in scheduling, we now offer Information & Advising Night.
Faculty and administrative staff will be on hand to discuss the
details of various courses, review artwork, and assist in registration.
Students may take courses in whatever they
desire. However, many students find it helpful to know there are
suggested paths. Introduction to Design & Color and Basic Drawing
are considered foundations for any artistic pursuit.

Fashion reflects who we are and the times and places we live. Fashion
Design is the applied art of creating clothing and accessories. Explore
color, fashion illustration, garment construction, fibers and fabric,
dyeing and finishing, flat sketches, and merchandising in this fast-paced,

Artist’s Book

of paper or other material. An Artist’s Book is a work of

Pastels are bound sticks of pure pigment. Pastels combine a power
and purity of color with an ease of use. Develop the ability to skillfully
manipulate the medium and experiment with a variety of surfaces and

Ceramics is the art of making objects from clay whose final form
results from the action of heat. Explore basic forming techniques
such hand building and throwing. Create items like cups, bowls, and

Welding is the joining together of metals by the application of extreme
heat and pressure. This class is designed for students who have completed
the welding workshop and for welding professionals who wish to learn
to create artistic originals in steel. Learn fabricating, welding,

in the Renaissance. Professor of Fine Arts, Doug Norman, will lead
students through a course titled Drawing on the Renaissance. In addition,
participates will choose from a variety of courses offered through

along to Ireland. Duncan Snyder, chair of Media Studies Still-Based,

studio art program provides both art educators and artists with
a memorable and creative experience.
Creative Summer Workshops
2007 Creative Summer Workshops meet June 11 – August
3. Brochures will be available in February 2007. Registration begins
in March.
Creative Summer Workshops are a series of intensive workshops for
children, youth, and adults. Each workshop offers quality art instruction
taught by CCAD faculty and arts professionals. Focused instruction
is geared toward developing skills and knowledge of a particular
media or subject. Course offerings might include painting, drawing,
computer graphics, ceramics, or sculpture. Workshops are scheduled
in June and July.
