- If I am not seeking a degree, can I take courses
that do not have a CE course identification number?
- Continuing Education/nondegree-seeking students
may enroll in both day and evening degree courses in accordance
with the following policy:
- All prerequisites and permissions must be obtained
before registration. Obtain a form in the Continuing Education
office for permission and/or waiver of the prerequisites to take
the course. Student may need to have work reviewed.
- Continuing Education students may take degree
courses on a space available basis. Registration will take
place after degree students of the appropriate class level have
registered.
- Continuing Education students will pay the full
tuition price for all degree courses. Registration and lab
fees must be paid. Payment is due at the time of registration.
- There is no limit on the number of courses a
Continuing Education student may take within the term, year, or
career of the student. Degree courses will count toward the degree
if the student decides to seek a degree and is accepted by admissions.
- If a Continuing Education student decides to
seek a degree, the student must complete the admissions
process and meet all the criteria of an incoming freshman.
- There is no limit on the number of degree courses that
will count toward the degree. A full listing of degree courses
is found in the master schedule available in the Continuing Education
office.
- Is college credit received for continuing education
courses?
- Both credit and noncredit courses are available.
Credits obtained may be used as elective credit toward the requirements
of a bachelor of fine arts degree.
- What about prerequisites?
- If you wish to take a class that lists a prerequisite
but you feel you have the necessary professional experience or
skills, please contact the Continuing Education Office at 614.222.3248.
- Where is CCAD located?
- CCAD’s 16-building campus occupies nine acres
in downtown Columbus’s Discovery District. CCAD is within
walking distance to the Columbus Museum of Art and the Columbus
Metropolitan Library.
- Is parking available on CCAD’s campus?
- Yes, parking is available in lighted lots adjacent
to CCAD campus buildings. Parking is free in designated CCAD lots
on evenings and weekends.
- Can I get dinner on CCAD's campus?
- Vending machines are located in buildings throughout
campus.
- Are there entrance requirements to take Continuing
Education courses?
- No. Students enrolling in Continuing Education courses
are considered nondegree-seeking and do not need to go through
a formal admissions process.
- Can I participate in the Ohio Post Secondary Enrollment
Options Program?
- If you are a high school junior or senior anticipating
participation in Option A of the PSEOP program, please contact
your high school counselor and then contact Brooke Hunter-Lombardi
at 614.222.4039.
- Can high school students take Continuing Education
classes and workshops?
- High school juniors and seniors may take Continuing
Education courses if they wish. However, it is strongly recommended
that they first enroll in our programs for children and youth.
- What if I am interested in seeking my Bachelor of
Fine Arts degree?
- New degree-seeking students must contact the Admissions
Office at 614.222.3261.
- How do I develop a portfolio for admission to a
degree program?
- We offer a portfolio development course, and have
several drawing courses that are also good for developing a strong
portfolio. If you have specific questions, please contact the CCAD
Admissions Office at 614.222.3261.
- What if I don't see a course offered that I would
like to take?
- Additional courses will be developed and offered
in the future. If you have suggestions for courses please call
the Continuing Education Office
at 614.222.3248.
- Are the same courses offered every term?
- Course offerings do vary somewhat from term to term.
However, our core of courses is offered every term.
- Will I need to purchase supplies?
- Supplies required for each class vary. New art students
may need to purchase both basic and specific supplies. Most experienced
art students have accumulated basic supplies and may need only
a few additional items. Instructors will give information about
specific supplies needed prior to the first class. Supplies can
be purchased at the supply store in Kinney Hall.
- Are there entrance requirements to take Continuing
Education courses?
- No. Students enrolling in Continuing Education courses
are considered nondegree-seeking and do not need to go through
a formal admissions process.
- How can I find out about events and exhibitions
at CCAD?
- Visit www.ccad.edu/events.htm for
updated information on exhibitions, visiting artist presentations,
student art sales, senior thesis shows, special events, and campus
activities.
