CCAD is strongly committed to cultural diversity and
dedicated to enrolling talented art students from around the world. In
keeping with our goal of creating a global campus, CCAD is proud to offer
scholarships to outstanding international students. In addition, CCAD
assists these students with cultural adjustments and offers advice on
U.S. Government regulations relating to their international status.
Students representing more than 30 countries from Asia,
Africa, Europe, North and South America, and the Indian subcontinent
bring important artistic, cultural, and intellectual dimensions to life
at CCAD.

CCAD is authorized under federal law to enroll nonimmigrant
alien students.

International Health Insurance Information
As an international student at CCAD, you are automatically
enrolled into a special international student health insurance program.
This plan will allow you to receive medical care for typical injuries
or illnesses that you may experience while studying outside of your home
country. Please note that the insurance plan will not cover any medical
claims made while inside of your home country.
The plan is simple to use, but you must follow specific
steps in order for the plan to work as it is designed. Please carefully

International students FAQ
- Are there any additional admissions requirements that
international students must complete?
- Yes. International students wishing to obtain an F1
Student Visa do have additional admissions requirements including verification
of financial resources and the TOEFL examination.
- What is the minimum TOEFL score?
- Students from countries where English in not the only
official language must submit the results of the TOEFL examination.
Students taking the paper-based TOEFL must score 500 or higher. Students
taking the computer-based TOEFL must score 173 or higher.
- Are ACT or SAT scores required for international students?
- Although not a requirement, it is recommended that international
students take one of these standardized tests. CCAD does not have a
minimum score requirement for either the ACT or SAT.
- Is there an application deadline for international students?
- Although there is not a specific application deadline,
international students are encouraged to begin the application process
at least four months before their expected date of enrollment. Students
must allow ample time to complete the admissions process and then apply
for an F1 student visa through the proper U.S. embassy or consulate.
- Should all application forms and requirements be turned
in at the same time?
- Application materials may be submitted individually
at separate times are all at once in a single packet. Either way is
acceptable.
- Should original artwork be submitted by international
applicants?
- Please submit examples of your artwork in slide or photographic
print form. Floppy disks, Zip disks, and CDROMs are also acceptable
formats. We are not able to return your artwork so please do not submit
actual pieces.
- Does CCAD have an MFA / graduate program?
- No. CCAD has an undergraduate program that awards a
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree upon completion of studies.
- Does CCAD have an intensive English (ESL) program?
- No. However, the international admissions advisor is
able to recommend nearby colleges that do have intensive English programs
for international students. Many students begin their studies in such
a program and transfer to CCAD after reaching the required TOEFL score.
- Are international students eligible for scholarships
through CCAD?
- Yes. CCAD offers merit-based scholarships to international
students who are high school seniors. International transfer students
are also eligible for merit scholarships.
- Is tuition higher for international students?
- NO. CCAD is a private institution and tuition is the
same for all students, regardless of nationality.
- Can international students apply for on-campus employment?
- Yes. Students holding an F1 student visa may apply for
on-campus employment once attending CCAD. However, on-campus employment
is not guaranteed and should not be factored into a student's budget.
Students who gain on-campus employment are limited to 15 hours of employment
per week. Certain students holding other types of visas may not be
eligible for on-campus employment. Off-campus employment is not an
option.
- Does CCAD have an International Student Association?
- Yes. CCAD has an active International Student Association
that holds weekly meetings and organizes special events. American students
are also encouraged to attend theses meetings and events because the
aim of the International Student Association is inclusion and interaction
rather than isolation.
